Alanna (Lani) Mednick
Literacy Partnerships Manager
Lani Mednick is a Literacy Partnerships Manager with CORE. Before this role, she was an Educational Services Specialist at CORE. Lani has served as an Assistant Principal of Instruction at a Title 1 school in Oakland, and in that role, she supported her school with high-quality MTSS and SIPPS implementation, which resulted in reading growth for students confronted with unfinished learning. Before that, she co-designed, coached, and led early literacy cohorts across 16 sites to create lasting systems of support to ensure all students are taught to read. Lani was also a classroom teacher and reading interventionist in Denver and the Bay Area and has taught TK-6th-grade students.
In addition to teaching, coaching, and administration, Lani has provided consulting services to many school sites and districts to support them in understanding the key components of structured literacy and the implications for implementation and instruction. She is a program facilitator with The Right to Read Project and is a graduate of the education master’s program at the University of Colorado, Denver, where she focused on Urban Education & Leadership.
