Katrina Smith-Paggett

Educational Consultant — Literacy, K–6

Katrina Paggett is an Educational Consultant with CORE.  Katrina is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience in the field. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a specialist degree in Teacher Leadership. 

Throughout her career, she has held various roles, including classroom teacher, instructional coach, district reading coach, culture and climate coach, professional learning designer, and national professional learning facilitator. As a professional learning facilitator, Katrina led in-person and remote training sessions aligned to structured literacy, supported the implementation of research-based programs and effective instructional techniques, and assisted with using, organizing, and analyzing assessments and assessment data to improve instruction.

Her contributions to education have been recognized through multiple accolades, including being named Teacher of the Year three times during her tenure as a classroom teacher. She also serves as the president of the Henry Heritage Reading Council, a local reading council, and is a member of the leadership team for her local First Readers organization.
