Dr. Theresa Hernandez is an Educational Consultant with CORE.  She serves as the Regional Literacy Coordinator at Educational Service District 105 in Washington state, bringing a wealth of experience to her role. Beginning as a bilingual paraprofessional in 1999, she has since held various positions, including teaching at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, instructional coaching, and educational consulting. She holds National Board Certification in English Language Arts, with endorsements in Elementary Education, Spanish, and English as a Second Language.

Dr. Hernandez is dedicated to promoting literacy for all children, focusing on adolescents, particularly in rural communities with Indigenous, Multilingual, and economically diverse populations. She is committed to creating an anti-racist environment and ensuring equitable, joyful educational experiences where every student’s voice is valued.
