Carrie Thomas Beck is the Senior Director of Learning and Development at CORE Learning. She oversees the part-time consultant team, providing a welcoming and informational onboarding experience to educational consultants, and ongoing training and support to ensure they are well prepared to deliver CORE services to meet the needs of schools and districts. Before joining CORE Learning, Carrie worked as the Dyslexia Specialist for the Oregon Department of Education where she led the implementation of new dyslexia legislation in the state. Prior to joining the Department, she worked as a Research Associate in the Center on Teaching and Learning (CTL) at the University of Oregon, developing and directing the CTL Reading Clinic and leading the development of a reading endorsement program at the university. She also co-directed the Oregon Reading First Center while at the university, providing technical support in literacy to 50 elementary schools throughout the state of Oregon.
