About Our Math Coaching Services

In one-on-one or small group settings, CORE coaches work with teachers to build a deeper understanding of adopted instructional materials, resolve implementation issues, and provide coaching on implementing effective instructional techniques.

 

Math Coaching Tailored to You

CORE’s coaches support teachers with research-based strategies through collaborative coaching, agency and empowerment, and a partnership built on care, confidence, and commitment. Our coaching focuses on dialogical and directive interactions, as shown in the table below, which shows our coaches’ purposes during different sessions.

We provide skills and knowledge from the proven model/program’s instructional strategies.

Coach Expertise

The coach asks powerful questions, listens, & thinks with the teacher. They share expertise in an empowering manner.

The coach elicits questions and shares expertise by explaining, modeling, and providing constructive feedback.

When Should This Be Used?

We use this when the teacher wants to co-learn and have a voice in creating and directing school-aligned change in the classroom.

We use this when the teacher wants to close a skill gap between existing instructional strategies & program recommended strategies.
