Dr. Andre Lawe is an Educational Services Consultant with CORE. A New Yorker who has resided in Los Angeles for the past five years, Dr. Lawe has been an educator for 23 years. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively on curriculum development and implementation and mentoring and developing educators to effectively handle the challenges of the 21st century. He has had a variety of educational roles including assistant principal, principal and superintendent. He believes in coaching and mentoring educators to create the right learning institutions and environments that foster high expectations for students and rigorous learning experiences.
Dr. Lawe has extensive experience in supporting mathematics instruction. A few areas of expertise include building content knowledge, curriculum pacing and standards alignment, monitoring for student understanding and giving feedback to drive learning, aligning instruction to concept drive, supporting teacher planning for Intellectual Prep, and supporting educators to use instructional data to drive instruction. He is passionate about creating classrooms that foster strong positive math identity in all of our students.
Dr. Lawe is deeply committed to social justice work and in disrupting systems and structures that serve as barriers to the success of students of color. Moreover, he is extremely passionate about creating the right conditions that acknowledges the brilliance of all children while ensuring that they can thrive. In his role as executive coach and facilitator, he feels that this work most aligns with his passion, by equipping educators with the right tools.
