Cara Tourand is a Literacy Specialist at CORE Learning. She facilitates training and site-based coaching support at the elementary level, with a focus on building teacher capacity to plan and deliver science-based literacy instruction that meets the needs of all learners. Before joining CORE Learning, Cara worked as an instructional facilitator, coach and teacher for large and small districts in Washington state, where she developed and advocated for rigorous differentiated instruction and inclusive practices as part of robust mutli-tiered systems of support. Cara holds a Master’s degree in Education, with emphasis in teacher leadership and coaching. In her free time, Cara enjoys traveling, wine tasting, gardening and spending time with her family.
