Ed.S, Educational Consultant – Literacy K-12

Dydrea Pittman is an Educational Service Consultant with CORE. She holds multiple degrees including a B.S. in Social Work and an Ed.S. in Teacher Leadership. She is a passionate and accomplished educator bringing over twenty years of experience. In her recent position as a reading coach, she was instrumental in helping her former school move off the state’s failing schools list. In her current role as an assistant principal, she continues to collaborate with the administration to develop and teachers to implement effective strategies that enhance reading comprehension and literacy skills among students. 

 

In her role as a teacher, Dydrea successfully led teams of educators and support staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment and prioritizing student success. She gained knowledge of state standards and implemented engaging lessons through student curriculum. She grew through her work on various school-based teams such as Problem-Solving Team facilitator, Title 1, and School Improvement team coordinator.

As an instructional reading coach, Dydrea is skilled in providing targeted professional development to teachers and helping teachers implement evidence-based practices that promote student engagement and achievement. Her coaching approach centers on building teacher capacity and fostering a growth mindset.

Dydrea has been pivotal in designing and implementing effective reading and literacy programs that align with educational standards and cater to diverse learners’ needs. She uses data-driven decision-making and is adept at analyzing student performance to inform instructional strategies, track progress, and make informed decisions that positively impact student outcomes.
