Dr. Nancy Walker is an Educational Services Consultant with CORE. Nancy earned her Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Learning from the University of Southern California where her research focused on Latina teachers and early literacy instruction. Nancy holds a California Single Subject.
Dr. Nancy Walker has dedicated over 33 years to the field of education. She has worked as a literacy teacher in the middle school setting, including Title 1 Coordinator, in diverse public school settings. Nancy is a Professor of Reading at a university in Southern California where she teaches literacy courses for K-12 candidates. Her work includes mentoring the fieldwork experiences for candidates, including the student teaching practicum. With experiences in literacy instruction and coaching for teachers and school leaders, Nancy focuses on best practices for struggling readers and writers and implementing effective instruction for English Learners.
