Palandria Brand
Ed.D., Educational Consultant – Literacy, Middle and High School
Dr. Palandria Brand is an Educational Consultant with CORE. She looks at education as a ministry that she was called into. Her passion for change in her community drove her into the classroom hoping to teach and have a positive impact on student’s lives. Coming from a small town where opportunities to grow were not prevalent, she made it her mission to develop opportunities and purpose for excellence, not only for herself, but for others (being D.O.P.E. is her motto).
With over 12 years of experience in education, Palandria has served as a middle and high school English teacher, reading interventionist, PST/RTI Chair, Teacher mentor/leader, Clinical Master Teacher, and her current role, as a Secondary Instructional Coach of the largest geographical school district in Alabama.
Palandria’s passion for education has motivated her deep commitment to social justice and creating environments for ALL students to learn and grow, academically, socially, and emotionally. She believes that education is the key to change and break down barriers that were designed to stifle marginalized students. Although her expertise lies in English/Language Arts, she has extensive experience in areas of coaching and supporting teachers in multiple areas, culturally responsive teaching, data-driven and standards-based instruction, instructional (strategic) planning, curriculum alignment, providing professional development, and giving feedback to drive growth.
Dr. Brand holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication (Journalism and Broadcasting) and a Master of Education (Secondary ELA) from the University of Montevallo and a Doctor of Instructional Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
