Sarah Feldman
Educational Consultant — Literacy, K–8
Dr. Sarah Feldman is an Educational Consultant for CORE. She brings thirty years of educational experience, including serving as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Franklin McKinley School District, where she supported K-8 principals and teachers to focus on English Learners’ literacy development. She worked to address educational equity statewide in California and was the Director of Practice at The Education Trust-West for four years. Sarah helped write the California English Language Arts and English Language Development Curriculum Framework. She conducted research for the U.S. Department of Education Office of Innovation and Improvement while working at WestEd for a decade.
Dr. Feldman taught middle school and high school history, served as the Assistant Principal of a large public middle school, trained urban principals for New Leaders for New Schools, and taught teacher and principal credential classes for graduate students at California State University East Bay and Touro University. She also led a non-profit organization for urban youth that encouraged college students to become teachers and prepared middle schoolers for rigorous academics.
Dr. Feldman earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Mills College, a master’s degree in Education from Harvard University, a master’s degree in Educational Administration from San Francisco State University, and an undergraduate degree with honors in History from Brown University.
